For 19 years Copperstate 1000 has offered participants the best road and finest scenic routes in and around Arizona. The thoughtful planning that goes into the route selection is undertaken with the ultimate goal of delivering an experience of total enjoyment and exhilaration that comes with driving a vintage automobile. The Copperstate 1000 committee is comprised of auto enthusiasts who have driven every Arizona highway and byway; both as a participant or route specialist. The committee along with officers from the Arizona Department of Highway select the best route to enable Drivers to experience the limits of vintage auto driving. Expected weather conditions, road surfaces, varying terrain and flat out fun are just some of the factors used in deciding the “ultimate drivers route.” Motorcycle DPS officers accompany the rally and ensure nothing impedes the goal of trouble free travel throughout the entire route. Mechanics follow the route and along with tow trucks provided by AAA and Sponsors chase cars, you can be assured every precaution is taken to address the occasional unexpected situation.
